Juicing - Good for Overall Health

Has your skin lost it’s natural glow? Are you feeling low in energy? Does your body need a reset?

If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, then this ButtahBlog is for me and you.

Turns out, you are what you eat! Lately, I’ve been eating whatever my little heart desired – fast food three times a week, fried foods and way too many snacks. Did I mention snacks are my favorite food group? In the past two weeks, I’ve ordered and eaten pizza twice knowing very well that cheese causes immediate break outs and stomach issues.

Now, I’m sitting here feeling bloated. Skin looks dull and dry, with acne appearing on my face. And these are just some of the symptoms I was experiencing. Besides contributing to health issues such as obesity and diabetes, did you know poor diet can also contribute to :

  • Fatigue
  • High Blood Pressure (also known as the silent killer)
  • Heart disease
  • Various cancers
  • Weakened immune system
  • Disrupted sleep quality
  • Memory loss

It can even affect your mental health. Multiple studies have shown too much sugar and/or processed foods can lead to inflammation throughout the body, which can cause depression, stress and anxiety.

Yet, I have no one to blame but myself. I know what foods I need to eat and what foods I should avoid. Since July, I’ve been making poor decisions. This weekend, I decided it was time to get back on track. So I took a trip to the farmers market to stock up on the fruits and vegetables needed for the juices.

I knew I wanted to detox my body, so I grabbed ingredients for Joe Cross’ Mean Green Juice along with some pineapple, strawberries and red seeded grapes (juice recipes listed at the end of the blog post).

For the next week, I will be drinking 32 oz of juice for breakfast, become very selective of the foods I choose to eat and stop eating by 8 pm EST. I would love for you to join me!
